Mutiny on the Ship – The Captain Is Silent

Many well-known experts in the United States and Europe said that the war in Ukraine was provoked and is being waged by America with the help of the collective West using the bodies of Ukrainians as cannon fodder. Benjamin Abelow, the author of the book “How the West Provoked the War in Ukraine,” published in August 2022 and translated into many languages, clearly explained how the United States and NATO policy led to a crisis, war, and the risk of nuclear catastrophe. “As a result of a series of erroneous actions, Washington and its European allies put Russia in a desperate situation from which war seemed to Putin and his military staff the only acceptable solution.” Abelow writes.
Many well-known American experts have published similar or even harsher accusations against the West. Among them were journalists or public figures, professors from major American universities, current and former members of Congress, retired employees of the State Department, the military, and even intelligence officers. Nowadays, due to censorship, they rarely can express their opinions in the mainstream media and, therefore, have had to limit themselves to social networks.
However, the influence of such networks on public opinion is constantly growing; hence, to compete with them, the mainstream sometimes has to allow a few “dissident” voices. I am especially pleased that it was the Washington Times newspaper, where before the start of the Ukraine war, I published over a hundred articles criticizing US foreign policy, but after February 2022, the editor was no longer interested, an article by the well-known commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano (pictured) entitled “Biden longs for war” has been published. The author previously advised the FoxNews channel on legal issues. Still, after being fired for “free thinking,” he started his popular show on YouTube, where he interviewed prominent dissidents.

By the way, the same thing happened to one of the most popular American journalists, Tucker Carlson. After being fired from Fox News, he moved to X, the former Twitter, and both commentators’ viewership increased many times. As a lawyer, Napolitano carefully studied the details of the Ukrainian tragedy. He noted that “The war began in 2014 when the State Department and the CIA organized a coup against the popularly elected and neutral Ukrainian government.” He further writes that since most of the Russian-speaking and Russian-culturally oriented population in eastern Ukraine was dissatisfied with this coup and the new puppet regime, Putin organized a referendum in Crimea, and its residents voted overwhelmingly for returning to Russia. “Who can blame Putin,” asks Napolitano, “when, since the early 1990s, the United States knew Russia would not agree to NATO’s expansion to the East.
The administration of George H.W. Bush promised Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev not to do this in exchange for the peaceful liberation of Eastern Europe and especially the reunification of Germany.” Further, Napolitano says that when the United States and Britain managed to disrupt the Istanbul agreement between Russia and Ukraine after the start of their war, the only way out for Putin was to resist NATO expansion by force. “Who can blame Putin?” the author asks, “How would American presidents react to the threat of Chinese offensive weapons in Mexico?” Ignoring the fact that now he will be accused of having ties with Moscow and will be called an agent of the Kremlin, the American judge says that “There is no doubt that the United States is waging war with Russia — without a decision by Congress as mandated by Constitution, and without the consent of the United Nations.”
It is clear that all these words are not news, but for readers of the Washington Times, primarily conservative Republicans who support Trump, they sound fresh. It is not entirely clear the position of Trump himself, who continues to remain silent after Ukraine’s strikes on Russian territory by American ATACMS missiles. This gives rise to many rumors and conspiracy theories since earlier, Trump constantly accused Biden of fomenting a Third World nuclear War, and now that this threat has increased even more, he keeps quiet.
Does he have a goal to continue using Ukraine as a tool for US
interests, focusing on freezing the conflict rather than resolving it?
Some go even further, arguing whether, according to Trump’s definition,
the “greatest huckster” Zelensky offered him a multi-trillion dollar
bribe in the form of all the bowels of Ukraine for this silence. This is
unlikely. I think better of Trump, and besides, in the event of World
War III, all these riches will lose their meaning and become irrelevant.
Most likely, whoever is in command in Washington right now — has made a
desperate attempt to prevent Trump from ending Bieden’s war in Ukraine,
ignoring the growing risks of Armageddon. Putin has already made his
statement; this is the time for Trump to say his word.
